Senate

Duties:

The Senate is the academic organ of the university and performs the following duties.

  • To decide on the principles of the university's education, scientific research and publication activities.
  • To prepare draft laws and regulations concerning the whole university or to express an opinion.
  • To prepare the regulations related to the university or the units of the university, which will come into force by being published in the Official Gazette after the approval of the Rector.
  • Examining and deciding on the annual education program and calendar of the university.
  • To award honorary academic titles that are not dependent on an examination and to decide on the proposals of the faculty boards on this subject.
  • Examining and deciding on the objections to the decisions of the faculty boards and the institute and college boards affiliated to the rectorate.
  • To elect a member to the university board of directors.
  • to perform other duties assigned by law.
